Polishing service - help required

Having recently bought a 2007 Z4M Roadster I was stupiud enough to pay the £300 for the main dealer 'polishing' service pre delivery

In a nutshell, it's c**p and not worth £50, let alone £300+ There are swirl marks on the car and it's not showing any sign of lasting very long at all.

Does anyone know of a good detailer/polisher who uses a proper wax and will give a decent result for £200-£300? As you can probably guess, I don't know much about wax and have heard a lot of people talk about Zymol. I have thought about taking it back to the dealer and asking them to do it again, but they'll just do the same s**t job no doubt!

I live near Swindon and work in London so either end of the M4 will do.

For £300 I'd give them a chance to do it properly and if it's still rubbish I'd request a refund.

Is this their Super Guard type product? If so, it's substantially an insurance backed cover and not really a paint correction (swirl and scratch removal) service.

Go to the Sales manager who'll be in charge of the valeters and say you want the job doing properly or your money back. Also having your wheels supaguarded can make it a bit more tricky to re-furb the wheels.

Personally I hate having to offer it to customer's but I'm made to ask. I don't rate it very highly. If yopur car's going to get scratched/chipped I fail to see how some wax will prevent it.

Problem is most main dealers get the valeting done by a contract company who in turn employ the cheapest people they can to do the job.
The level of understanding these valeters have of high end cars is very limited.
They are normally under big pressure to get through a high volume of cars in a short time, and therefore just try to get the job done as quick as possible.

Whenever I get cars serviced, I specifically tell the garage NOT to even wash it.

Good man, you haven't got to watch a brand new motor being put though a cheesy wash and come out with lovely swirly paint :sad: I went mad when the valerters were about to put my dads 6 through the wash when I had specifically asked them not to. Luckily I was passing at the time and spotted it in the queue.
