E23 7 series, what are they like?

Anyone got much experience with this model? I've seen the odd one about and they look good value, but are they deceptive and basically just rust buckets?

Thinking it may be a fun car to drop my M60 V8 into as I was looking for a rust free E28 but they seem to be fetching from £3k upwards.

Any pointers as to what they are like, weak areas to look out for in particular or just the usual on old BMW's like scuttle, bottom of wings etc?
