Any idea where i could get an E46 M-Sport bodykit? I'm looking to help fit it onto my mates 325ci coupe (2001) which is in titanium silver.

He's looking for the front bumper, rear bumper, boot lip spolier (has side skirts already) and is going top finish off with a seperarely purchased led lights.

He's under the impression he can do this at home - has anyone ever done this and is it straight forward (particularly given the PDC on his 2001 is at the bottom of his bumper unlike the m-sport bumper where its in the middle)?

To help he wants to go from this type of bodykit (based on a car already on sale)...

Thanks in advance.

I think that was a typical anti-max power style PH rant rather than a typical grammar and spelling PH rant by Marki.

Hold on - this is all standard BMW stuff - lights included. So whats wrong with facelifting a 2001 BMW to make it look like a 2004 BMW???????? They are the same car - just one has been facelifted by BMW as part of its normal 4 year in facelift policy and my mate doesn't want to buy the 2004 model when his 2001 model only has 45k on the clock - so rather than spend £6-8k getting a facelift car, he chooses to do it himself.

I'm sorry but I cannot see what the problem is ? Maybe you can enlighten me?

To fit those lights, you have to buy adaptors from BMW ( about £15 ) and then have put on computer so that the OBC doesn't think the lights have blown. Half an hour, about £50.

The bumpers go straight on and spoiler is stick on, piece of cake.

You can purchase the OE "M-Packet" bodykit from these chaps

http://www.salesafter.de/product_details.php?id=56

Very good service and I've dealt with them on a few occasions with no problem. You have to do a funds transfer from your bank and it takes 3-5 working days for the stuff to arrive.

The adaptors are just electrical leads that go in line in the boot. The lights fit in with no mods, takes 10 minutes max!!!

BMW will then need to plug car in to program lights.

Bumpers are just a case of undoing nuts and placing new bumpers in the place. check ebay and you'll probably get them in colour.

Spoiler, just take your time to line up properly before you take the tape off and stick to boot.

As people have already said, the LED lights will often throw up a fault code, depending on who you bought them from.
The front bumper can be done at home/ I changed mine and put a CSL bumper on it. It was hard work and took a couple of hours, but its better than paying someone loads of money to do it for you!
Also the spoiler just sticks on with tape. You can get them for about £30 from e-bay.
I turned mine from this:

into this

That looks really nice smile

Out of interest - does anyone know whether my mate would now have to inform his insurance that the car is "modified".

If so, is this likely to send his premium through the roof?

Thanks for your help.

Is he looking at getting genuine bmw led lights? If so and his car is newer than 09/2001 then he'll also need a new lcm which costs something rediculous like £200.

Thanks.
As far as telling the insurance company of course its better to tell them, as if you ever have an accident and they inspect it they wont pay out unless the car is as described.
The amount it will affect your premium depends on which company you use. I used Adrian Flux as the broker, and when i let them know i'd put a CSL bumper on, and M3 wheels it added all of £6 to the policy!!
I was worried about telling them but i'm glad i did now.
Happy hunting
