up grading satnav to widescreen ?

anyoen know if i can upgrade the square MY2000 sat nav unit in a 7 series to a 2001 widescreen one (upi can buy them off ebay)

I may be wrong but I've been reading up on this kind of stuff while on the lookout for a 530. It seems that if you already have sat nav installed then the upgrades should be relatively plug and play...
One thing I did notice on a couple of forums was that a certain version of the 7 series widescreen was different from the E39 widescreen. And.. don't use one from an X5 as it's at a slightly different angle to the car versions and doesn't sit quite right.
