My E39 Touring has some annoying squeaks coming from the doors - in the main, the nearside doors. I think it's the door seals. I've tried talcum powder on the seals, Gummi Pflege, cleaning them totally with warm soapy water, WD40 and even adjusting the latch to make the door a tigher fit with the door seals. While it's not as bad as it was, I can't get rid of the squeaks altogether. Anybody got any ideas?

I can't say I've suffered that at all - but useful to bear in mind.

Yesterday I could not close/lock the rear nearside door - took about 20 minutes of flaffing around to get it to work!

The E39 is notorious for squeaking doors. Seems like you have tried all the cures. The only thing you can try is repalcing the door seals that creak. About £30 a door from BMW.

Thanks. I know of a product called Krytox but haven't tried this yet. Cost around £35 for two small tubes so maybe when I get around to it, I'll give it a go.
