[Dr Chuff]

I have an 2000 e39, with car phone, the chunky cord-attached Motorola one.
My virgin PAYG sim works and can be read, but when I go to dial a connection is not made.
Do I need a different sim card?
Is there anything to check before I buy a new sim?
