E60 V10 M5

When were these first sold in the UK please?
Or, say, when is the earliest one could have been driving a RHD car in the UK?

One of these is booked in for it's MOT, which sounds a little early, no?

As i thought, this guy reckons his V10 is in for MOT and it sounded early; i reckon they were on the roads around January 2006 earliest.
He probably wouldn't know an M5 E60 if he parked next to it.

The official launch was some time in 2004, but IIRC the earliest RHD ones came out in Aug/Sept 2005, so even then the MOT won't be needed until the middle of next year. Maybe it's LHD, as these were available early 2005 - so an MOT in January is not impossible.

Could it be being sold by a BMW dealer? I bought a 2 year old 3 series the other week, and they MOT'd it...said they always do before selling a car on.

The earliest E60 M5s currently for sale on the BMW website were registered in May 2005.

Dont understand the whole rear lights thing, they replaced them with LEDs, didnt the outgoing e39 have rear LEDs? So why did they put old technology on the car and then upgrade it later on.

Update time, well 'the car' was first registered in Feb 2006.

But, the guy 'likes to MOT his cars early', or at least that was the answer when i questioned the time/MOT relationship.

I'm ot aware of any change to the front lights, just the dash (centre console - hard buttons below iDrive, rearrangement of ashtray and SMG surround like the LHD one instead of the bodge-up on the earlier cars), the driver's door (removal of diagonal pull handle and shifitng of window controls) and rear lights.
