Alpina 3.3 engine

All,

Giving serious thought to looking at a B10 3.3 (manual) tomorrow. It looks very clean and has a full BMW service history, but it's a 2000 model and I've read a couple of scary stories on here about a bad batch of engines...

Any thoughts?

It's no. 98 in black with black leather if anyone knows the car?

I asked the same question in the summer, everyone warned me of possible engine issue/encouraged me to buy a 3.4 engined B3 but they are a lot more exspensive.

The B3 & the M3 evo are very different cars both are quick, but go about their business in very different ways,Ok so the Alpina may have engine issues??, the M3 will definatly need Vanos work!!

Go buy an Alpina you will love it

The B10 is a 5 series not a 3. The 2000 engines had oil consumption issues. Oil consumption was anything between 400 to 600 miles per litre (B3 3.3) fantastic car pinked like mad in the summer, spent 3K trying to sought it out and eventually gave up and sold it. Buy a B10 but avoid year 2000. Wish I had the benefit of this advice before hand.
