It is on a new car, so hopefully the paint will be good. As others have answered to: "Is it worth it?"...No!
I've heard they're charging something like £300-quid for this? I'm also led to believe all they're doing is applying a product called 'Hart Wachs' (translated = Hard Wax). This is stuff they apparently won't sell directly to customers and insisting it is supplied and applied by the dealership at the above price.
In fact, it's just a liquid application...and it IS possible to get hold of it yourself. I've managed it several times now.
Having said that it appears to be an excellent product. You still need to do all the normal proper preparation (eg. de-swirling etc) if your paintwork isn't prefect/new. However, the stuff is extremely easy to apply and appears to be extremely durable. I applied it almost a year ago to my wife's daily driver which is an 11 year old E34 525i and since then all I've had to do is wash and dry the car and it still looks extremely good after just doing this.
Normally I don't get unhung up on recommending products(as I believe preparation and attention to detail is the best way to achieve results) but this has indeed been an impressive product both in terms of ease of use and durability.
But is it worth £300 for someone else to apply it? Emphatically "No!"
