Z3 Leaking roof

Hi can you point me in the right direction my wifes Z3 roof is leaking not through a rip, the whole roof is now porus (10 years old) as a concequence the carpets are soaked and begining to smell, Ive bought a bottle of renovo super proofer but I think im fighting a loosing battle. Does anyone know the best place to buy a new roof and carpet set and has anyone replaced them before? Is it straight forward? Many Thanks
I have replaced about 90 of these fellas in the past 7 years,to be honest they are one of the easiest to do(the mini being the easiest).But im afraid its not a job I would recomend taking on as the adjustments and there is a high posibility of damage to the rear tack bar and also paint work.Fabric replacement is an art of sorts-I grew up with TVR so I had an advantage.Takes me about 5 hours with the glass and seal adjustments
In my experience a genuine fabric is the way forward but if you can find a specailist to fit it then you will save £££'s.There are after market versions but they never seem to fit correctly-either too tight so you have a drum effect whilst driving or too slack which sounds like a wind sock.
The carpets are easier just a bit of labour to take seats,trims,panels etc out.The rear carpet is the easiest the front will need a little snip in the centre.
You might find one at a breakers or FAB in Cinderford Glos.
When you or whoever takes the carpets out make sure the floor pan is clean and dry-get some heat in there just to ensure the cavitys are dry.This will help make sure there is no damp smell or windscreen condensation/mold and will also protect the wiring loom.

Mmmm, I wrongly thought it may have been a simple job (BMW engineering). I have VERY limited experience fitting roofs as Ive just done the one on my Griff, having said that I took my time and it spends most of the time tucked up im my garage away from the elements, the Z3 lives outside and is the better halves daily drive so would need to be done quickly and properly.
