Z4 Coupe - How to get an extended test drive?

Hi Everyone,
I've got an increase in my car allowance due in March, and as such fancy chopping in the Skoda for something a bit more fun, and I really like the look of the Z4 coupe.
I've had a sit in one at Sytner in Solihull, and I fit OK (I'm not particularly small
) - it's a bit snug, but in a good way (I think ),
Only thing is that I do quite a lot of miles, and while I'm pretty damn sure I'll like the Z4 for ragging and gently pootling about such as on a short test drive, my main concern is how I'll feel getting out of it after a 3hour drive and in stop/start traffic - as it's really quite a lot of money (to me) I want to be bloody sure I don't end up taking a massive loss when I find It's no good for long trips...
So how can I go about convincing a Dealer I'm not just out for a joyride, and secure the car either for a few hours, or preferable overnight so I can do a good long trip in it?
I've no problem with paying for it (I tried to find somewhere I could rent one from, as I'd feel bad if I took it back and said that I didn't like it, but no luck)
I'm hoping that the PH massive has some helpful advice?

For reference we've got 'sport' spec which means sport seats (I think). I'm 6'1 and was plenty comfortable after driving more than 80% of the mileage we did. Recommended!

, but on the other I was worried about the suspension being a bit too hard for long miles - good to hear this isn't the case...Cheers

A word of warning, different people have different tolerances to NVH. I don't mind being jiggled around on a long trip but I hate constant wind/road/engine noise. I would take one out for the weekend before making your mind up.
Good Points, I certainly want to try a long trip in it - what are my chances of getting a weekend test drive though?any decent dealer should give you an extended test drive as long as they think you are a serious buyer. I have a Z4MC and use it for long drives, the wind noise/road noise is not that bad, I do however find the cabin a hard place to be for long journeys, i'm not a small lad either and really miss a decent lumbar and find the seats quite uncomfortable generally, always shifting about and banging into something as the cabin is quite cramped, if it;s somewhere you are going to be spending alot of time in I would give serious consideration to something else TBH, I love the Z4M but it's massively flawed as a long distance hack
I'm 6'1" and larger than average and having gone from a E46 330d Sport to a Z4C Sport I do find it's less "relaxing" over long journeys (and I do a lot of 200+ mile ones for work) but is a more satisfying drive.
Would I go back to the 330, no. Would I say to you get one on my recommendation, no.
Talk to the dealer, discuss your concerns and if necessary and you are serious leave a large (refundable) deposit.

Do a member search for DONUT. Hes a local lad (Solihull) and a main dealer agent, im sure he will be able to assist.

Yes, the Z4M IS massively flawed as a long distance hack. Different car than a z4 coupe though - different suspension, different 'box, different seats, different engine. My fiancee has a z4 3.0 coupe and does a 50 mile return commute to work in it every day. Loves it to bits. Personally, i'd go do the figures and a quick test drive with the dealer, show him you're serious, let him know the figures are within budget. If you're really serious at that point, tell him you're not convinced about the practicality of the car for you, and could you get one over a weekend as a final confirmation before you buy.

I've read his advice several times, but I never thought to check where he was!!!!!
Odds on he works at either of the two local BMW main agents
