Lemon Dakota Leather ?

There seem to be a few new 3-Series floating about with Lemon Leather interior, at pretty good prices?

I'm not sold on the colour yet, but is this why they are priced attractively? Will no one else touch it with a barge pole when it comes to re-sale?

I had a 320i M Sport loan car with 6k on the clock in Le Mans blue with Lemon Dakota leather. It looked gorgeous but after 6k was already rather filthy.

My now 6 year old 5 Series has never had its leather cleaned and, becuase its black, still looks smart and new. I suspect this is why Lemon is unpopular.

Nothing a bit of effort wont keep on top of, though.

They don't get any dirtier than any other colour. It just shows the dirt a bit easier and reminds you to clean it regularly. It comes up fine with just a damp cloth.

I love the look of lemon leather. I would select it, so long as you are prepared to treat it with a leather wipe frequently.

Love the look of Lemon. I've got a light grey interior in my e46 which requires a bit of cleaning every few weeks, but not hard to keep on top of (car's now down 125k).

Probably worth avoiding if you have kids mind

The nice thing about lemon is it's actually two tone, the dash, carpets and lower door cards being black, unlike cream where everything including the carpets is cream which does require keeping on top of to retain it's good looks.

I took it for a test drive tonight and think I might just have found the right car.

After spending some time with it, it really does look good being a sort of two tone as you say. Will just have to wipe down the seats every month or so to keep it sparkling new.

Is Lemon Dakota not available on the coupe?

Think the Mrs next car will be a 335d M Sport Coupe and I think the lemon looks really good (like the fact that the dash and carpets are black)

I'm pretty sure the Lemon Dakota leather is only available on the saloon and touring.

I have a 335d coupe in montego blue and cream leather - looks fantastic just needs a wipe over every weekend when i clean it and it keeps it fine - i drop my two girls off at school every day and even with them getting in and out it doesn'nt get too bad. Go for it you know you want to!!!! In my mind better combo than same old black all the while. If it was up to the dealers we'd all be driving silver cars with black interiors.

I've got an E39 with the light yellow leather and anthracite combination. It was very unusual when I bought but I loved the look of it and it now seems quite a common combination on the E90's that I've seen around. I agree it does show dirt more than other colours but I have no problems keeping mine clean and in good condition even at 6 years old and 95k.

2007 with only 830 miles on the clock!
