Need a good independent in Kent

I have an E30 that requires a service and MOT which is not a problem, however I have a problem with my car that needs more than just an oil change and MOT check.

I have a stalling problem with my auto full details here

The battery has no life and will not even open the central locking, can still access with the key. But I cant move her with this stalling problem so would need the company to collect.

Any suggestions for a good independent BMW garage in Kent (north Kent if poss) that knows about older BMW's

I was thinking of Bexley Motor Works http://www.bmsport.com/ but would welcome suggestions/reccomendations

I should get mine back from BM Wise this week, yep they have had it for ages. Its finished but I need to pick it up. Heafty bill though

Cotty, Bexley Motor Works were / are renouned for their work with e30's and inparticular the M3 varity. Although i've never actually used them my self i may well do in the near future - just to compare . It's well worth giving them a call mate.

why bother with an old E30 going to a specialist? any half decent local garage should be able to sort it out.... find a decent local chap

AAAAAAhhhhhhh they have been picking my car up using the jacking points on the sills, the jacking points are and the surrounding paint has cracked and flaked exposing bare metal.

Along the sills there is a little ridge of metal that the BMW jack fits around, The drivers side has been squashed flat and the passenger side has deep impressions into the ridge of metal, the paint has cracked and there is exposed metal. They have obviouly been picking it up with some sort of lift bu those jacking points are not designed for that.

Considering the bill they just handed me im livid to say the least.

Nothing yet. I only noticed when I was walking back to my car from doing some food shopping. I dont have any side skirts on at the moment as I have some Hartge ones to fit so the sills are easy to see.

I called them at 5pm when I got home but there was no answer, Ill call them tomorrow.

Part number 1. On the bottom left of the image is a V with a plate each side. The ridge sits in the V to stop it moving and the plates lift the car, with the ridge folded flat there is noting to stop the car slipping off the jack.

Forgot to update the thread

I rang the garage today and they were very apologetic. They have asked me to bring the car in and they will sort it out. Turns out one of their young aprentices had raised the car using the incorrect lifting points.

Hopefully once sorted and painted they will be better that they were before.

The garage have been great. I dropped the car off today. They are going send it to they paint guy. Even offered to fit the new spoilers I have just had delivered

No you can't. They made a mistake, admitted it and have agreed to fix it. Depending what the results are like I might let their paint guy have a go at my new spoilers
