Maunual Gearbox or SMG ???

looking to get a E46 M3, not sure weather to stick with manual car, that i have always driven...or weather to venture into the relms of the SMG ???

your views please; any known faults, pro's con's...general opinion/rating?

The usual answer is to try both and see which you prefer.

Grab yourself a cuppa, de-stress and have a read of some people's opinions. Having driven a couple of E46 M3s with SMG II, I'd say go for it.

SMG by a mile!!! Its absolutely fantastic and once driven it you will never want to go back. Dropping gears and listening to the engine blip is simply magic. I cant wait to try it on the new M3

I have not driven a Manual E46 M3. But the CSL i test drove (all SMG) was sublime and fantastic on down shifts. I would reccomend it definately.

Thanks for those opinions. i have only sat in the passenger seat of someones so far as the local dealership hasn't got one in at the mo.? but i did clock that the smg seemed to have the bigboys toys factor! launch-control! downshift blipps etc. i guess its all about being in the driving seat though! not long now!
