I remember seeing one of these as a youngster in Spain in the 80s and thinking wow!
And now there is one for sale in the classifieds (nothing to do with me):

Has anyone any experience of these rare beasts? What sort of power do they put out?

! It's got a kind of pimp daddy thing going but honestly...And running costs etc look well scary!!
I was looking for one of those for ages a while back. I had an E12 M535i which uses the same basic engine as that, but they called it the 745i because they turbocharged it with a KKK unit. BMW considered it to have an output comparable to a 4.5 litre motor, so it became the 745.
The turbo/electronics and what not can be slipped onto any of the old iron big sixes with reasonable ease. Apparently... So I was going to try to slip it onto the M. As it was, the tinworm was a more pressing matter.
