High revs - detectable by dealer/engine management system?

Quick question for the tech heads.

When I picked up my new car the computer was reading that the car had done 16 miles and averaged 10.9 mpg!

Is it poss if I take to another dealer to check on engine management system max revs achieved by the engine? I want to see if the delightful dealer spanked it before delivery.

Probably spent time just idling to charge the battery up / warm the car up.

Thats about right the figure you have.
When we first drive them the figure starts at about 6 mpg and eventually this increases.The true mpg figures happen from about 500 miles.The cluster is set from zero so it takes time for it to rise,you will see it jump up and down for a short while

I doubt the dealer will have spanked it unless they are true idiots,if it happened at our dealer we tend to show them the exit.

And no we cant see Max revs only real time or if a fault happened at a certain RPM

I wouldn't worry - it's only done 16 miles. Basically that means the dealers haven't driven it or if they have, very little. Typically it will have done 5 or 6 miles being parked in different storage areas round the build plant, between buildings, on the "shakedown test" etc.

That said don't buy a fiat - I spent a few weeks at one of their factories, they'd move cars round the site bouncing off the rev limiter in first (on a brand new engine!) I don't know if it was broken selespeed gearboxes or that the workers simply didn't know how to shift gears!
