E39 Cupholders

I'm about to start a a 30mile daily commute in my 2001 E39.
I'm not human until I've had 2 or 3 cups of coffee in the morning, so I'd like to take a travel mug with me. Unfortunately the cupholder on the E39 is too puny and very poorly positioned to use. Does anyone know a mod, or is there any recommended aftermarket accessory?

i agree with you, very ify
the audi has this sorted,
all the e39,s have this problem,
shame on bmw for such a flimsey cup holder.
i think a flaske might be the option.
