3 series compact project

Just wondering if this can/has been done?

Parts:

1) E36 Compact 316ti £500-1000
2) M52 2800cc engine plus box £750
3) Supercharger and light engine mods £3500
4) Strip interior add buckets £500
5) Quaife LSD £750
6) Brakes £1000

Could be an awesome little fun car (280bhp, dodgy E30 rear suspension) for not crazy money. I'm assuming all of these parts are easy bolt on ones, and just a straight swap.

I'm sure I remember someone doing something similar with a compact..
