BMW E36 320i **Stalling**

When i try and pull away in first gear the car seems to try and stall, even if i am doing 6,000 or so rpm, i dont understand, do you think it could be the fuel filter is getting blocked? or maybe the injectors? its only started happening recently, and seems to happen at the most in appropriate times haha

I had a similar episode with my E36 318is a couple of years ago. It turned out to be a camshaft sensor.

In another episode, one morning on my way to work after a week sitting unused during cold, damp weather, the car stalled as I rolled to a halt in traffic. I had no trouble firing it up again but every time I attempted to apply a load it cut out again. Anyway, I sat bemused for five minutes and then tried again, and it was fine, so I guess it was some sort of condensation, that rapidly built-up in the engine the first time I fired it up after its week of inactivity, which subsequently needed burning-off.

They were prone to TDC sensors failing, any BM dealer should be able to quickly check this via there diagnostic tester as the fault should be hopefully logged.
