Towing with an X3

Anyone tried it?

I know they are more of a soft roader.. but given the price they have dropped down to of late i'm considering one as a tow car.

Anyone got any experience..

And I don't mean towing caravans.. More likely track cars on a trailer.

they are absolutely fine. 2.0d is maybe a little stretched for towing, but only in as much as you'll have to change down when going up the steepest hills, but the 3.0d and 3.0sd, OMFG they'll tow all day. I've had all three, towing a race car and trailer of around 1400kgs in weight.

Yeh would have thought they would be good in 3.0 guise long as your weights are ok..Bit sad but have a trawl through some caravan magazines about tow car tests you might find some info there
