Bmw 328 rear diff

Hi
The car was an auto but has been changed to a manual its way over reving at 70 it doing about 5000 revs the cluth is fine and not slipping i just wanted to know if the auto diff would do this if so then i will change it many thanks

Something doesn't compute here. 5000 rpm at 70mph sounds like almost like third gear! The diff ratios in a UK spec car shouldn't be much different between manual and auto. It's not a far east import, is it?
