E46 Brake disc and pads -Torque, allen key or nuts to remove

Just a quick question.

Can anybody tell me what sort of fittings the 3 series (e46)has to remove the front brakes and pads. I'm having a garage apprentice do them after hours so he just wanted to make sure what tools he needs to bring.

He will need a 6mm and 7mm allen key and a 16mm socket/spanner.

If you haven't already got them you might need pad sensors too. You can get the old ones out of the pads, but they break easily.

Already bought them too - Are these easy to install. Will the pad wear light go off on the dash or will I need some sort of reader.

They just clip in - follow the same the path as the one you take out.
The pad light will go off itself after a while, or there is a procedure involving leaving the door open and the ignition on. Not sure of it exactly but goole will thow up something.

He's an apprentice for Vauxhall and works 9-5 for 5 days a week. I'm pretty sure he only earns about £120 for hard graft in a freezing cold bodyshop.

Yes, they do take advantage of the youngsters enthusiasm. Bet they still charge the customers full rate for his work though!

Yes the pad sensors are very easy to change, you'll see a little box in the wheel arch which opens up and then pad sensor slots into. Is he doing just the front or the rear's too? The rears discs are sometimes difficult to get off due to the handbrake, well not too difficult really, just need a bit more force than the fronts.
