E46 328i saloon (1999)

Quick (and probably stupid) question - do the E46s come with the wiring already installed for the 6 CD changer, so it would just be a case of buying the changer unit and installing in the boot? Or would I also have to get the unit wired in? I'm looking at buying one without a changer and was just wondering if someone can confirm one way or the other.

Pretty sure it's in there irrespective of model, colour or creed.

Agreed; if specified the unit is installed during PDI, not at the factory. The wiring is all there.

Ok, I'm going to see the car on Weds - I assume that it's quite easy to check behind the flap in the boot to see if the wiring/plugs are already there?

My E39 has all the wiring behind flap, left side of boot.
Now i also just need the changer. Ebay best for this?
Is it BMW specific?

E-Bay does seem to have a fair number (just need to be careful that you get one that is fully working!). It is a BMW part but I believe Alpine actually manufactured it.
