Cam positioning sensors broken; okay to drive?

Folks I have to replace two camshaft positioning sensors on my 330, is it okay to drive it till the garage gets the new sensors in?

Yes,the DME will revert to back status and use the crankshaft as its reference...However if that fails its full stop.
You may find longer cranking periods and hesitations during running and maybe see the EML ight come on.

Be prepared for some inconvenient stalling too! I had two cam sensors go and had to creep around for a couple of days.

And when they arrive and you see them, how simple they look, and the price (approx £75 ea.?) you then ask yourself why you could buy 3 DVD players for £25 ea. at your local supermarket for the same money!

Not too bad to do,the inlet is the worst one as the vanos solenoid valve needs removing(just unscrews,will loose a tiny bit of oil-just make sure seal goes back on.No bleeding etc needed for it after refitting) and the wire for the cam sensor runs down to bottom of manifold.

Muchos thanks for that info, still waiting on the garage to get back to me with the parts, it's getting fecking annoying though as I have to constantly keep the revs up when pulling away from traffic lights to avoid stalling.
