Induction kit for an E36 320i

Any advice on what the best one for under £100 is?
I know there is a guy called DaveF on another forum that apparently makes the best ones with a custom heatshield but dont want to really spend 170ish quid. I just want to help the engine breath a bit better and not really get into the whole performance modifying thing.

I remember reading on another site that if you take a plastic restrictor out of your stock induction set-up, you can improve airflow, but I can't remember where I read it.

That and a K&N filter in the standard airbox should make some improvement without all the noise associated with aftermarket induction systems .
