Plug and Play Engines

Have an E39 520i with an M52 engine.
Can you transplant any E39 engine into car?
What would be needed?
ECU?
LOOM?

you can...depends on how much work you want to do!

I don't know a huge amount about the e39's, but I imagine the 2.8 would plug in easily (would work with your gearbox too) maybe just an ecu change?

The V8's probably wont fit, at least not without changing your steering rack for a box

You would think so but try finding a 520i engine..... Took 2 weeks of constant searching
