reprograme key BMW 320d sport

Does anyone know how to reprograme a key for my BMW, I was told insert key into ignition and turn just to turn electrics on, then with the key still in the ignition press and hold the open button and remove key, take finger off the open button and press the lock button 3 times, does'nt seem to work for me or am I doing something wrong? HELP PLEASE!!!

There are certain ways of doing this. The best imo is to get a dealer or indy to sort it. I think there might be books or BMW mags that have covered this sort of thing. Possibly search internet for help, google.
