Getting a light to switch off on the dash E39

I have a 1996 E39 523i SE Auto. Its due for its NCT (our MOT) shortly. I have a brake wear warning light on my dash, which is not due to Brake wear (all pads and sensors recently replaced) but a faulty electronic unit thats supposed to switch it off. The car will fail its test if the light is on. So basically is there an quick way (ie taking out a fuse) that would get the light to switch off for the duration of the test??

It will eventually time out by itself , mine takes roughly a week.

Shouldn't fail MOT because of that as you can easily see the wear on the pads

Has been on for roughly a 4 weeks - so doesnt appear to be timing out

should go out on its own quite quickly if the sensor on the nearside wheel (UK) isn't open circuit. There is a key sequence to hurry it up if you google it.
