What model?

Hi, in the position to buy a tax free car and have circa 30k to spend. I want a large capacity diesel and all the spec that comes with such a model. I want the M Sport pack and, although this may not be the best choice come resale, a manual gearbox (I like Audi's DSG box but that is about it for autos). I realy like the touring shape and the added practicality that this lifestyle choice brings. Unfortunately the car has to be new (otherwise I would have a stab at a 535d M Sport Saloon aware that it only comes with an auto box). The question is, 330d or 530d. I have read many of the technical forums regarding the major issues for the engine (Injectors, fuel pump and turbo) so it is the rest of the car that is of interest. Hopefully the budget will stretch - any ideas if it does not?

What do you suggest? I have heard nothing but praise for the 335i - I like the strong mid range of the big oilers but I have not yet driven a twin turbo petrol which may be best of both worlds.

Not sure about needing to do intergalactic miles.. My 335d is averaging a smidge under 40mpg since I got it - so I would assume a 330d would be better. A 335i will be mid 20's... The other point to note is that the diesel is no longer the 2nd choice - I find petrols (and until recently hated diesels) gutless now after the 35d... Drive both and see which you prefer - but get a decent test drive of the sort of driving you normally do. The deisel will hold it's money better and be cheaper to tax also...
