RFT's in short supply?

I always wondered why I could never seem to get an online quote for all the tyres on my 330i MSport. I just had the two front tyres replaced and really struggled to find any in stock. In the end I had to buy the two tyres from two different suppliers.

Anyone know why they're so hard to get hold of? It's not exactly a rare car is it?

RFT's are slow sellers and not every tyre fitter has the kit to fit them. They're also junked by a lot of people in favour of none RFT's. Never had a problem with our E60, so what sizes do you have?

Bridgestone RE050 RFT
Front: 225/40/18W (These were the hard ones to source)
Rear: 255/35/18W

I had a spot of bother a while back, in Italy, on a weekend. I found a local tyre place who sold me 2 of the 225's for my E60 for 160 Euro, for the pair! Cracking price.

My local (small town Howden) tyre fitter had some Goodyear's in that size too, which I thought would be special order. I usually try mytyres first and get a local tyre specialist to quote against that price. Usually works.
