E92 Making angel eyes whiter!!!! cheaply!!!

Just noticed that the angel eyes are lite up by a single H8 which passes light through a fibre optic loop (the eye) so i bought some 'white' xenon lamps....just the standard style.....only few quid of ebay

you will agree the effect is great....now the rings match the xenon perfectly!!!!.......all the images were taken with the drving lights on, whe you switch to dipped side lights they look like this:

Yeah all coated halogens smoke when first turned on.... i know what ya mean about the yellow light does look moodier, am still not 100% on the white.

I think the white looks great, much better than the yellow, reminds me of old street lights, zenons are the way forward!

Looks also liek the inside of the plastic is burnt also like mine and several other E92 headlamps ive looked at.

Yellow and white lights together look wrong....like when the fog light crew are about.... where does it look burnt ??

Can someone explain how to change the bulb for these parking lights?

Where is the bulb located?

I looked in the manual and it was not helpfull.

It's not before and after. The "before" is the nearside. The "after" is the offside.

Well, I had to go to work for a few weeks, so I told the wife to take it into the dealer and get the bulb changed.

After about 1.5 hours... £99 was the damage!! I'm sure that they felt they should keep it below the £100 mark just to try and keep it polite!!

I thought that it would be a little time consuming, like about 30 mins max as there clearly is not much space to get at the bulb.

At least the car came back clean

I hope the other bulbs last a lot longer!

I bought some GP Thunder 8500's from a US website for about £15-£20 and they took 10 minutes to install.

They look way better than the crappy stock yellow, which looks weird with the Xenon's IMO.

Even I could see it clearly was not going to take 10 mins to install on the passenger side because of the air filter and other bits. I would have taken some time.

The space is not there to open things up to get at the bulb. Stuff has to be removed.
