Add Paddle shift to Steptronic??

I just read a step by step guide with pic's on how to add paddles to any BMW auto with steptronic, simply connect 2 wires to the selector and exchange the Wheel and slip ring for a paddle item! Ok i simplified this a bit but has anyone seen this or tried it?
