Towbar electrics wiring on 2008 E90

Hi

I've got a 2008 320D SE E90 and I need to wire in a lighting socket (no towbar) so I can use a bike rack and lighting board.

If I just get a lighting socket and scotchlock set from Halfrauds will that do it, or will ze computer go "NEIN!!!!"

I had an Alfa 156 a while back and wiring that in was a very tricky job...to the extent that a couple of mobile towbar fitters said they would not do it, and I know cars just get more complicated the newer they are!

I got a smart relay kit from Towsure, very easy to fit, only four wires needed connecting to the loom plus the supply and earth to the battery. It understands the canbus and multiplexed wiring without any problems and the computer didn't need resetting. All the bulb failure functions still work OK as well.
