8 Series Central Locking

So, with some long overdue summer weather, I've been driving the Coupe as a coupe ought to be driven, ie., with all windows down.

All was fine until I made a quick stop with the kids, tried to lock car (with windows down) using Gemel immobilizer (as I do normally).
If the windows are down it won't lock without setting the alarm off.
So, I try to lock car manually (with windows down) on passenger side.
All seems OK.
Until, I come to garage car.
Windows inoperable, key fob lock inoperable, then some windows operable, but not all, then all !!!
Immobilizer works, but won't lock the doors.

HELP, please, I'm losing the will to live!

It sounds like the after market alarm is no longer synchronised with the body control module and the whole system had got a bit confused.
Have you tried unlocking the passenger door with the key and then closing the windows?
Failing this, I'd disconnect the batteries for two or three hours and let the systems forget all their settings (overnight if you can). When you re-connect, hopefully everything will be synchronised again. These body control modules are the very devil and can easily lose their way. Generally they forgive and forget if you leave the battery disconnected for long enough.

Well it will run like a sack of st for a few minutes until the EML's re-learn various settings but it'll soon sort itself out. You may new to re-set the windows and the sunroof too. Depriving the electrics of their life blood for a few hours can cure various ills on the 8, with all those electrical systems these cars are fairly voltage sensitive, anything below around 12.5 Volts can start to cause mystery gremlins :-)

When I saw it Saturday before last it was looking very blue and very shiny, both on top and underneath and goes pretty damn briskly too!

Just needed a new air mass wotsit I think and Michael my be swapping the back boxes to get a better sound out of it.

Then, who knows where it will appear
