E30 OBC Problems. I need help!?!?

i had a new battery fitted to my e30 e320 and since then my obc has not been able to calculate average speed, range or consumption anyone any ideas how to sort???

You have re-set it in terms of re-entering date, time etc ?

yea reset time and date. the manual says that after a loss of power the obc needs reseting by bmw so i took it to them 2 days ago and there still struggling to find a solution

I'm suprised the main dealer know what the OBC for an E30 is..... so was your's showing PPPP or AAAA or was it working fine with the exception of the Range, Consumption? Did you check th e coding plug in the back of the OBC.

the average speed shows 0.0 but never alters. the range has ---- that flash constantly and the consumption has ---- that are solid. i havent had the obc out. have you done it before? how long and difficult is it? and what do i look for once its out?

If it's still in the dash then I would start by doing an extended down power, i.e. disconnect the battery Earth terminal for an extended period of time, like over night, reconnect and see what it does.

If that does not solve it then remove the OBC, which is held in by screws from behind, the coding plug is fitted to the back of the OBC.
