E60/E61 suspension changes since introduction?

I have a 54 plate E61 535d sport and I find the suspension a bit soft allowing more movement and roll than I would prefer. Today I collected an 08 plate 520d sport saloon while a leaking heat exchanger is being sorted and it's firmer and wallows less and makes the car feel smaller. Did BMW change the suspension at some point through the lifecycle or do I have knackered shocks?

What mileage is on your car? If it's getting on a bit, then a new set of bushes would probably firm it back up.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there have been any changes to the suspension since the E60/E61 was introduced.

About 55K miles. But it feels like much more than bushes.
