Bridgestone Run Flats in very short supply

There is a huge backlog on Bridegestone Run Flats for BMW owners at present and the official word from Bridgestone is no delivery date when they will be available.
The alternative Pirreli option seems to be the same. So no runflats and no spare not ideal.
Owners and suppliers are also having to incur ever increasing prices from manufacturers with cost prices rising as many as four times this year alone by as much as 25% in some cases.
It will not matter about the increasing fuel prices soon if you can't replace your tyres with an OE option. I am also hearing whispers that in some instances insurers are declining to pay out where the correct tyres are not fitted as we face an increasing global credit crunch.

I've found the Michelin RFTs are the more difficult to get hold off. My local dealer has Bridgestones in stock in all the sizes but only a couple of varieties of Michelins.

I recently bought some 205/55 16 Michelin Pilot Primacy ZPs for our 120d for £90 each all in but I had to wait a while for them to come in.

If your local dealer has them in stock I would be amazed as they are in very short supply so I could do with there details.

I've got one 17" Bridgestone Potenza with 5mm sitting in the shed if it gets really bad!

(Couldn't stomach RFTs on g/f's Z4)

I have been through this pain and it seems that some dealers are able to get supply far easier than others. It was a case of keep trying everyone until you find someone who can get them.

I've recently had some Goodyear Eagle run flats on the 5 and quite happy with them. My local (in the stick) tyre fitter had them in stock!

I had the same trouble sourcing my tyres, but I did manage to get all four in the end.

It kind of defeats the point of having run flat tyres really if you can't get a replacement easily. If you happen to get a flat miles away from home, you can only drive on these things for so many miles. It would be pretty embarassing having to call a tow truck out to the tyre centre to take you home if they haven't got any tyres for you.

I had 3 RFTs fitted by the dealer a week ago no issues.

RE050 RFT'S are currently backorder at Bracknell, but are starting to come through slowly.

Bridgestone UK also have them at backorder status.

Up to a 3 month wait for Bridgestone 255/30/19's RFT's for the rear of my E92 335d.

I'm likely to switch to non-RFT's as a result and change all 4 tyres. (235/35/19's front)

Will probably put 265's on the rear and 245's on the front. Looking like Falken 452's currently.
