Disarming Z3 alarm

Bet this has been covered a zillion times on this forum, but I only just joined, having defected from TVR's.
How the heck do I lock my Z3 using the key blipper without setting the alarm ? (sorry neighbours for waking you this morning when all I wanted to do was push the car forward an inch in the garage).

Or I think you can press lock again and the lights should flash twice, which means the alarm is off. But there are two different alarm systems on the z3 and I'm not sure if that isn't only the case for the one that is integrated into the key.
