Tyre pressures on 335i

Recently collected my new 335i and it feels a little unsteady on some roads. I've checked the tyre pressures and they were at 44 all round. Seemed very high but after checking, would appear to be inline with manual.

It's on 18" run-flats.

Can anyone shed some light on the "correct" pressures.

Well, would it not be what the manual says?

Failing that there should be a sticker somewhere - either drivers door shut/a-pillar region or behind the filler flap

I run 2.6 in fronts and 2.7 in rears. But thats 19" non runflats.

What were you driving before Marcus? I felt the same with my 335i after a 330Ci E46.

I had a E90 325 on 16" run flats. I don't remember it feeling like this.

The best way I can describe it is that, on a motorway, it feels like there are very strong cross winds.

Sounds to me likeyou are getting "tramlining" where the wheels follow ruts and grooves in the road.
Bigger wheels with lower profile tyres are prone to this, and most BMW's seem to suffer to some extent.

If it is most noticable in lane 1 where the HGV's make the biggest ruts then its almost certainly tramlining.

Exactly how mine felt, sort of like tramlining. I also found I was constantly adjusting the car during long sweeping bends rather than picking a line and the car sticking to it.

I had a change of rubber at about 14000 along with 4 wheel laser alignment. All of the wheel settings were out and after the adjustments the car felt transformed. Much more stable in the bends and the tramlining effect was much reduced.

I would be a little miffed at having to have a brand new car aligned but it might be worth asking the dealer if they will have it checked.
