BMW 325i Oil Warning Light

Hi guys,
The amber oil warning light on my 2000 325i has started to come on. only for a second or 2, and the last couple of days it has happened either just having started the car, or about a mile down the road. It Also, happened after parking at work, and then deciding to straighten up, went forward selected reverse, and the light came on again briefly.
I have checked the oil level a number of times and it is currently close to the second level on the dip stick. ie full.
I found 1 thread on the website regarding this and it was suggested to be a dodgy warning switch.
Can anybody confirm this, as I dont really want to fork out to have the diognostics read. But I also dont want the engine to sieze up ! ! ! It wouldn't be low oil pressure ?

Oil warning level is a common fault on the E46 BMW. Keep a regular check on the oil level and have the sensor replaced at your next service.

My oil warning light on teh Z4 also decided to show itself the other week too, just the once, after i had turned the engine off. It would not go off, so turned the engine on again and off it went and has not been back since.

Thats kind of what I thought. Just out of interest, light did not come on this morning.

That's the first warning of low oil on the Z4. Was it Orange? My Z4 did this too, check the manual it explains it.
