7 Series (2002 on) Advice

Hi guys.
Just sold my 98 XJR and contemplating which Daily Drive to get next.
Thinking of either S type R, newer XJ or a 7 series, but know nothing about the 7 series.
Looking through the classifieds, you seem to get a hell of a lot of car for the money on the 7 series (sat nav, phone, heated memory seats, massage seat on some, cruise, voice control etc etc)
I have a 996TT as a weekend toy, hence why I am looking for a bigger car to use daily for work (circa 400 miles a week, sometimes more when visiting customers in Sunderland etc).
Budget is circa £10k
Any info or advice on the 7 series would be much appreciated, especially spec, engines and what the cars are like to drive and own. Only like the newer shape (Bangle design).
