Watch this space....................... big V engines are going out of fashion, just look at resale figures for them, No one wants them and PX values are 25% below book. That spells good by to me.

IMO they will be ended soon, I don't think the new 7er is even offered with a V8 instead and twin turbo 6.

By the by - I heard an S4 the other day and it had a lovley V8 woofle, how do the BMW 8's sound ? (I'm thinking 545 or 645 for instance, which are just about attainable (if unlikely !) candidates for a man of my limited means).

Actually yes, the 740i is twin turbo 6 and 750 is v8
the v12 is the one they cut.

I was disagreeing with the lack of a V8, which as you point out the 750 is.

Merchant looks at market, cuts cloth accordingly: it's a non-story, just good business.

The V8 won't go away, they might just build fewer for a while. Which makes the V8 rarer, and so a way of differentiating high-end models, so...
