E92 improving sound system

Just bought a e92 335i and already thinking of upgrading the stereo. Has anyone had any success? Mine is the bog standard speakers (pro nav, if that makes any difference).

Im not looking at spending a fortune, but at least some better speakers, maybe a sub or amp... any recommendations???

Alpine now offer an upgrade too consiting of a plug and play amp and a pair of component speakers for the front for £260 I think it is.

lovely, I'll take a look. I heard BMW will upgrade the stereo themselves for around 3-400, anyone heard this too or even had it done?

I think the Alpine system is available as a dealer option, it is £260 with 1-2 hours fitting time estimated, so that sounds about right.
