Oil service due - Cheapest oil ?

As the tittle says oil service due on my E60 525 M-Sport, cheapest place I can find is Halfords for the oil. Castrol Edge 0w 30 oil. They want 44.99 for 4L. Any idea where it can be bought for a better price ?

Yeah. I got bl00dy slated on here for buying Mobil 1 there and giving it to OPC for my oil change.

I saved £70 which I spent on three lapdances with a brazilian (with a brazilian no less) and a large malt whisky.

Costco only sell 5w30 Castrol Edge not 0w30

Go to your Unipart factor and buy Unipart fully synthetic. Ask for their best trade price (theyre open to negatiotion!). Unipart oil is made by Fuchs, is of excellent quality and is on BMW's approved list just for good measure. The last stuff I bought was £17.50 for 5 litres.

Just been told by Dealership that I might invalidate my warranty if I don't use BMW oil.

I argued that that you can't buy Castrol SLX as it is only supplied to BMW dealers.

The replacement Castrol Edge that is sold in the shops and online may not be acceptable ! The chap is looking into it as we speak will update later when I know.

Castrol Edge IS acceptable, it is BMW LL01 approved and I have supplied my main dealer with it at every service.

The oil needs to be LongLife 01 or 04 approved, as appropriate for your car. If the dealer tries to tell you that using oil you supplied that is BMW approved invalidates the warranty politely ask them to put that in writing.

As soon as I mentioned putting it in writting the Mobil oil became OK to use.
