E39 idle problem

Hi,

Anyone had the above problem, whem cold the engine idles then dips down toward cutting out, then regains its idle.

Seem to remember something about a air sensor but cant find any previous threads.

emissions sensor and o2 sensor could need replacing. Do you also notice that when you are driving and you put your foot down all the way on the pedal, the engine looses power?

no just on cold idle, had a similiar problem to the one you mention turned out to be the cam sensors.

Going to check it out today

my car has idle issues when cold. almost stalls and if been stood for a while will stall

o2 sensors dont work until engine is hot

great exactly the same as mine.

The link is a f*kin good show, ill order the bits and get on with it. Got the belts to do as well as the front brakes, genuinely looking forward to it.
