its pre LCI model its got head up display up graded alloys individual leather piano black trim great spec car all the toys full BMW service history

Oops, turns out that one is expensive. Heres another from a BMW dealer with average miles.

In fairness, it depresses me - i gave £24K for an 05 535d Sport from a dealers back in June, and it was the cheapest in the UK at the time....

Probably the most depressing of all -

An LCI 535d M Sport, which is worth an easy £2000 more than a non LCI car, and again from a BMW dealer...

34K miles, £28495

So based on that, if 07 non LCI 535ds are making £28-30K i'd say a dealer would want to stock your car at £5K below retail, so that would be £23K to £24K trade (plus whatever discount he has to work with on the car you'd be buying) OR maybe £27K+ private sale if you can find a victim.

Shame I spent £48k 18 months ago on my LCI (but it does have SAT ) which now has 32k miles on the clock. The paper value of the V5 is now clearly worth more than the car

Why are you thinking of changing it? And ARE you thinking of changing it with those potential loses?

(i reckon trade price on mine is £9K down on what i gave for it retail just 4 months ago, but i've no intentions of selling it so i havent lost any money?)

Residual value hopefully is therefore of no interest.

That LCI one has Pro Nav as part of the media pack - when i looked at LCI models in June (ie, just 4 months ago, the cheapest was £34K)

I guess its about them struggling to find buyers, but surely even at £30K an 07 would be value?

Well you dont lose money on the car until you sell it? It may lose *value* but you dont actually lose money until its sold.

My 05 car cost £24K and its maybe worth £16K trade price now, which is a big drop in four months *but* if i drive it for another 2.5 years and its worth £8K then £5K a year isnt too painful.
