BMW AUC - Prepared to the highest standards

This is a particularly beautiful car but they really dont do themselves ANY favours with the prep work, do they?

What sort of a numpty photographs a car for the AUC website with accident damage on the front? Look at the front bumper - its wrecked, it has a hole in it and the corner splitter is smashed to bits!

One careful owner from new eh.. wonder what else its hiding? Is it any wonder some dealers cant shift stock if they advertise things like that?

As its quite old and high mileage they are probably just seeing what interest they can get. There is no business sense in repairing the car of this age unless it is sold as they will probably end up selling it to the trade and losing the repair costs in the deal.

It's an 11 grand car and it'd cost them a few hundred quid tops to fix that. It looks shabby and unprofessional a car with damage like that on the 'prestigous' AUC website.

They are probably worried by the time its prepped it may only be worth 20p

Personal feeling is that car is £6500 trade, £8495 retail on a good day. I am sure the promise of a new bumper would pacify any potential buyer as it is only a parking knock.

Premium price then - I wouldnt even bother looking with that damage. If they cant be arsed to do that what else cant they be arsed to do, it's not as if Autotrader isn't full of cheaper ones with bumpers in better condition..

That's the first one I've seen on the BMW website that's been damaged, but there are a fair number of photos on there where the cars are absolutly filthy, which can't make it any easier to sell them.

They sell all sorts, the dealer the Z4 came from had both a T reg E38 740i and a 120k mile 320d on their AUC forecourt.

And a 3995 520i..

That all changed about a year or so ago. They can sell anything now. ( within reason )

Hence E39 M5s, M3 Evos etc etc appearing on main dealer forecourts.

I love the 'Champagne' edition 5 Series. It's probably a good thing for my finances that I've never been able to find an M5 'Champagne' edition

While we're on the subject of BMW AUCs... I remember seeing an advert on TV many years ago which basically went on about how fastidiously prepared BMW AUC vehicles are. One of the adverts featured a bloke synchronising the clock on the OBC in an E36 3 Series to his watch. Anyone who has an E36 3 Series with an OBC, and therefore understands how rapidly the time on the OBC drifts away from the correct time, will probably have been as amused by this advert as I was.

My AUC car had a massive dent in the drivers door which I didnt notice until i got it home for some reason - i took it back and they sorted it asap - but even so, you'd expect it to be sorted before they released it for sale.

I was watching a car of exactly the same spec and year but with less miles on ebay a few months back and the guy sold it for £9100 in the end, and it was genuinely immaculate.
They really should take more pride in what they advertise under the banner of AUC. From a main dealer i'd expect even a 5 year old car to be immaculately presented.
