Just bought E39 530i, bit of advice needed

Just got my hands on a 2002 530i Champagne, love it. Couple of questions-

1) Sat nav is stuck in Uxbridge area no matter where i go in the country- is there any way of resetting it?

2) My digital mileage display has bits of the digits missing- any way of fixing?

3) The phone wire seems to have a fitting for a samsung phone- can i get different fixings for it?

They all do that sir.

He's right, the pixels on the high OBC display will die. It can be repaired but it costs a hundred quid or so and you need to send the cluster away.

The phone wire is for the Motorola V50 which was supplied with the car as new.

Fella in Southampton does the cluster fix, Rudi i think. Details should be in this months BMW Car mag.

This won't be what you want to hear, but a tomtom or similar will be better than the BMW sat nav at about a third the cost of fixing it. (assuming a £100 tomtom and a £300 repair). Sorry, not very useful today.
