Not long back from a couple of VW dealers......thought I'd chance my arm at some px prices.....

Why did I bother!!

Still hurts when a dealer offers you 6k less than an equivalent car for sale on their forecourt.....in worse condition!?!?!!?

HTF can a car that was Cap trade £10200 6 months ago now be about £7200.......this far into it's life....!?!?!?

If anybody wants an immaculate 04' 325 CI Sport for £9k let me know?!!??!?

I take it you havent been following car prices at all this year? Sorry to be the one to break it to you but they've been dropping like snow off a ditch.

Also, for info, you can buy an 04 325Ci's for less than 9k from BMW main dealers, Sports start at around £9.6K from indies (with a warranty, trade in facilities, finance facilities, etc) and thats before negotiations start.

I'd say at £8K on autotrader you *might* get a victim, but there is literally nothing moving out there at the moment - i think £7.2K trade is quite fair for a trade price in todays market.

What are you thinking of buying, and why did you think your local volkswagen stealer was best placed to give you a good price? I cant see him doing anything other than trading it on....

which actually translates to 'dealer offering me £7200 but i'll let you have it for £9000 instead'?

Used car prices look set to drop by 12% between now and Christmas (quoted back in October).

No chance mate! even £7200 is gonna look expensive soon... Don't worry about what the dealer has got similar cars up for on their forecourt. It doesn't mean they're going to sell at that price.
