I'm wondering if I can get some oppinions regarding the tyres on my Z4.
I have been reading peoples comments on other sites too.

I need two new rear tyres 225/35/R18 90W
Many owners have moved to Non Runflats such as the Falken FK452

Anybody else done this? I would be looking at about £350 for the four Falkens or £400 for the two original Runflats.

What do you think?

I'm looking to move to non RFTs, I've heard good things about the 452's over on the Z4 forum.

For what it's worth, FK 452s work brilliantly on E46 3 series cars, my own 330ci is running them at the moment and I see no reason not to replace like for like when due. There are also some E46 m3 owners using them to good effect too. This may or may not help you as a Z car owner...

Anything that improves the handling in the wet is high up on my list. The Good Year Asymmetric's get decent reviews but aren't cheap. the Falcons seem to be the best value for money going by people that have used them.

I have seen the following Falkons:

225/40/18 92W (XL) ZE912 225401892WXLZE912 (Front)

225/35/18 87Y FK452 225351887YFK452 (Rear)

Looks about correct for the Z4, not sure about the XL - Extra Load however, need it?

check out www.falkentyres.co.uk for a good deal.

i've gone from 18" runflats to 19" normal tyres on my 3.0i Z4 and the ride has IMPROVED! You can't underestimate how much better the Z is on normal tyres. That nervousness has gone, steering feel improved and your fillings stay in!

definaitely do it! i've got 452's for info and they're pretty good - compound is a bit hard so not the ultiamte grip of some others but decent in all other aspects - especially not leaving a dent in the wallet!

best of luck.

Cheers, I have checked with the insurance company - they are not fussed.
Think I may get 4 new tyres then!

I've binned the runflats ( 18") on my Z4 for Goodyear F1 Asymetrical. Love'em. £ 550 a set.
makes a huge difference. I've heard the F452's are history at 4mm as the tramlining comes back and they lose their stability, don't know how accurate that is, but was enough for me to buy the Goodyears.

Where did you get the F1's from for that price, was fitting included?

What are you doing here!
Just fitted the Falkons today, a little slippy at first but should be fine by the time I get to Scotland tomorrow.
Good to read a friendly text..

Been around for a while just not posted anything mate, it's a little bhy on here sometimes but always good for a laugh;). Once you've scrubbed them feller they'll be good, like I said earlier my mate runs them on his CSL, and that thing corners like its a go-kart. Where did you get them from in the end?

Falkon on-line, best price I could find, took them to National Tyres and they fitted them for 10 quid each.
